THE NOMINATION LETTER

My name is Santiago Rocha I am a teacher at Orange and I am currently working on my credential to become a Special Education Teacher. Additionally, I recently became the Head Football Coach for Orange Glen High School. I am an alumni of Orange Glen, played football, basketball, baseball and continued my football journey at the University of La Verne. I am from the Escondido community and I am proud to give back to the place that had a profound impact on my life.

I would like to nominate our Orange Glen football team for the 1morewin opportunity. Our team is made up of dedicated and passionate young athletes from low-income neighborhoods who have a love for the game but don't always have the resources to fully participate. 

One of the things I feel we have lacked in the past, was the Orange Glen football gear (spirit packs, shirts, shorts etc.). I feel that in order to generate buzz for the program and motivation for some of these young men who have/have not played football before is help create a sense of pride with the gear that they are able to wear to work out, play 7v7's, or even walk around the community in. 

Our team has faced many challenges this past year, a league championship season wiped away from a technicality and some players transferring out. Despite these obstacles, our players have shown incredible resilience and determination, still showing up to lifting/conditioning with a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard. 

The 1morewin opportunity could provide our team with the resources that I will feel will help us succeed both on and off the field, instilling important values such as teamwork, discipline, and determination. 

By supporting Orange Glen Football, you are not only investing in the development of young athletes but also in the future of our community. Orange Glen Football provides a positive outlet for our players, keeping them off the streets and focused on achieving their goals. 

The Orange Glen community is a family. The staff, administration and parents care about each other here and I know that with your help, we can continue to provide a safe and supportive environment for our players to grow and thrive, while also promoting a sense of unity and pride within our community.
